Derry City are to receive €5,000 funding from the Football Association of Ireland to assist it towards completing a five-year ‘strategic plan.’
A total of €100,000 is to be made available to the 20 SSE Airtricity League clubs by the FAI in conjunction with the Premier Clubs Association.
The announcement follows a meeting between the FAI and the Premier Clubs Association - which represents all League clubs - in Tipperary ahead of the FAI annual general meeting and is part of ongoing discussions on the future of the League following on from the Consultation Process Report in 2015.
"Strategic planning is a fundamental part of any business and the need for all clubs to have five-year viable strategic plans cannot be underestimated," said Fran Gavin, FAI Director of Competitions.
"We have 20 independent businesses operating in the SSE Airtricity League and they all have individual priorities and goals. The Consultation Process Report outlined the need for our clubs to have clear strategies in areas of sport, business and community."
