Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness has reiterated his call for the immediate release of Derry republican Tony Taylor (pictured).

Speaking after meeting with Mr Taylor's wife Lorraine, the Foyle MLA revealed he had raised the matter with new British Secretary of State, James Brokenshire.

Mr McGuinness said: "Tony Taylor was returned to prison on the word of previous British Secretary of State Theresa Villiers without any evidence being presented.

"I have raised this matter directly with Theresa Villiers and her successor James Brokenshire.

“I will continue to do so because his arrest and imprisonment without recourse to due process is totally unacceptable and he should either be released immediately or brought before a court and given due process."
