Hospital choir on song with donation towards care of patients with brain injuries and neuro-disabilities

Spruce House at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry has received a donation of £1,000 from its choir.

The proceeds were raised from the choir’s Christmas and Spring concerts.

Spruce House is an 18 bed specialist facility situated on the grounds of Altnagelvin Hospital.

It is a unique and modern facility, specially designed to assess, evaluate the needs, plan and implement rehabilitation programmes of care for patients who have acquired brain injury or neuro-disability.

In addition, it provides a time limited respite service to those clients who have complex care needs.

Photo shows Jim McCauley, treasurer of Friends of Spruce House, accepting the donation from Elaine McCracken, secretary of Altnagelvin Hospital Choir.

Included are choir members Mark Brown, Paul McGarvey and Jim Kelley; Sr Lorna Hamilton, Spruce House and Dr Manus McCaughey, Consultant in Rehabilitation.
