Derry’s Millennium Forum has announced that its hugely successful Irish dance musical extravaganza, Titanicdance, will sail across the world for its inaugural visit to China later this month.
The hit show will perform as part of the China International Folk Arts Festival at the Qinghai Grand Theatre in West China’s Qinghai Province from 8 to 12 August.
This is the first Millennium Forum production to be performed on an international stage and with dates in America already booked for November, Titanicdance is set to take the world by storm!
Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness, launched Titanicdance from Derry’s City Walls (pictured) for its historic voyage.
Producer and chief executive, David McLaughlin, said he was hugely excited about bringing the local production to a global stage:
He said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase this incredible show to a global audience. I was overwhelmed by the dedication and talent of the production team on Titanicdance, all of whom, have worked tirelessly to bring this unique show to this level.
“Both our Branson, US dates and now our China shows will allow people to experience this wonderful production first hand.
“ We’re very excited to be bringing Titanicdance to the world as we truly believe in our show.”
The China International Folk Arts Festival is a large scale non-profit festival sponsored by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
Since its inauguration in 1990, it has enjoyed high popularity among the Chinese people and received much attention from the state leaders of China.
