A toddler has narrowly escaped serious injury while playing at a Derry playpark, it has emerged.
The little girl, aged one and a half, was playing at Ballymagroarty playpark and was prevented from stepping on a broken bottle (pictured) by her alert mother, who has called for such parks to be checked on regular basis.
The mother said: “Me and my family were at this park and my daughterm who is only one and half, almost got glass up her foot.
“There was also glass on the slides.
“Surely there should be someone to check these parks on a regular basis.”
