A new mural will be unveiled in Derry this weekend to mark the 35th anniversary of the hunger strikes.

It will be unveiled as part of a major march and rally taking place in the city this Sunday to remember the 10 republican prisoners who died in the Long Kesh H-Blocks in 1981.

Two of those who died were from Derry, INLA men Patsy O’Hara and Mickey Devine.

Work on the mural (pictured), by renowned artists Marty Lyons and Danny Devenney, is nearing completion at Rathkeele Way in Creggan, the street where Mickey Devine lived.

Thousands are expected in Derry for Sunday’s march being organised by the local 1981 Committee...

Leaving the shops at Central Drive in Creggan at 2.15pm, the parade will visit Rathkeele Way and the former of home Patsy O’Hara on Bishop Street before making its way to the H-Block hunger strike monument in Rossville Street for a rally.
