The PSNI have confirmed they are investigating a report of an assault at a Co Derry care home.
It is understood the alleged incident occurred in a independent care home in the Limavady area.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police can confirm that a report of assault at a care home in the Limavady area was received on Wednesday, July 27. Enquiries are ongoing at this time.”
A spokesperson for the Western Health and Social Care Trust have also confirmed they were “aware” of an alleged incident.
A Trust spokesperson said: “The Trust’s Adult Safeguarding Team is aware of an alleged incident at an independent care home facility.
“The Trust has taken the necessary steps to ensure residents are appropriately cared for and is liaising with the home and other stakeholders.”
