The death has taken place of Patrick Tierney.
Affectionately known as Paddy, he is the brother of well-known Derry SDLP member and former Mayor of Derry, John Tierney, and an uncle of Brian Tierney, an SDLP councillor on Derry City and Strabane District Council.
He was aged 77 and had been ill for some time.
A father of eight, he is survived by his wife Margaret, sons Damien, Paul and Darren, and daughters Nuala and Sandra.
He was predeceased by his sons Brian and Gary, and daughter Debbie.
His funeral will leave his family home, 19 Bradley Park, tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9.20am to St Patrick's Church, Pennyburn, for Requiem Mass at 10.00am.
He will be laid to rest immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
