Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard announced the start of a £300,000 major carriageway and hard shoulder resurfacing scheme on the A6 Glenshane Road near Maghera.
The resurfacing works extends a distance of approximately 1km from its junction with the Glen Road (at Sperrin View Business Park) to just beyond its junction with the Fallaghloon Road.
The Minister said: “This significant investment will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this busy trunk road and address ongoing maintenance problems associated with the road.”
Work is due to commence on Monday 5 September and is expected to be completed on week commencing 17 October.
To help minimise any inconvenience to the travelling public and local businesses, two-way traffic flow will be maintained on the Glenshane Road during this period.
The above planned dates are subject to favourable weather conditions and TransportNI will keep the public informed of any change.
