News that the Rock Post Office in Derry has been chosen to be one of the Post Office's new "main style" branches has been welcomed by Sinn Fein Cllr Mickey Cooper.
The change is part of a major investment and support programme, the largest undertaken in the history of the Post Office, which will see 8,000 branches converting to new style branches.
Consumers can expect a newly refurbished branch providing a modern environment for customers, the same products and services and longer opening hours.
The new look Post Office on the Strand Road is expected to open on Friday 23 September next at 1.00pm.
The office will close on the 13 September so the refurbishment can take place.
Welcoming the news, Cllr Cooper said: “Councillor Cooper said: “It is welcome news for residents of the lower Strand Road area, that the long established Rock Post Office will now get a revamp to make it one of the new main style branches.”
