The home of a Derry-based musician who was buried last week has been broken into.
Police in Derry are appealing for witnesses following a burglary of the late Stephen Martin’s home address on Great James Street.
The property is located between Francis Street and Infirmary Road.
Stephen, who performed under the name Rainy Boy Sleep and was originally from Lifford in Donegal, went missing last month.
His body was found at Strandhill in Sligo on Saturday, August 13.
A PSNI spokesperson said the burglary ooccurred between 10.30am on Thursday, August 11, and 11.30am on Friday, August 12.
The spokesperson said : “Sentimental items were stolen, including a blue electric Stratocaster guitar, a keyboard, a sum of money and assorted musical equipment.
“Stephen’s family would appreciate any helping in locating these items.
“We are appealing for anyone with information who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or have information about the incident or anyone who may be offered similar items for sale in suspicious circumstances to contact police at Strand Road on 101, quoting reference 470 on 12/08/16.
“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
