Reports of shots being fired in Tobermore

There have been reports of shots being fired in the village of Tobermore overnight.

It is understood that police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

Ulster Unionist Party Assembly Candidate for Mid-Ulster, Sandra Overend, has condemned the incident.

Mrs Overend said: “I want to unreservedly condemn the shooting incident which took place in Tobermore overnight.
“This sort of violence has the potential to endanger life – it is totally unacceptable and has no place in society.
“I understand that police enquiries are ongoing, and want to appeal for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the Hillmount area of Tobermore in the early hours of Thursday, April 28 to come forward to the PSNI, by calling the non-emergency number 101.”
