Three teams from Tristar Boys FC leave Derry today to compete in the Blackpool Cup in England.
A party of 73 -. 47 players from the under-10, under-11 and under-14 teams, nine coaches and 17 parents - are making the trip to the English seaside resort, famous for its Blackpool Rock.
Due to the bad winter in the north of England, the tournament will be played at Fleetwood Town FCs new stare of the art 'Fuse' training facility, said to be one of the best in England, which boasts over 24 full size grass and 3G pitches.
The teams will play up to eight games over tomorrow and Sunday.
The under-10s (pictured) go into the tournament full of confidence after their recent success in the Kappa Cup in which they won the “Boot” section, defeating Eglinton Eagles in the final which they reached with wins over Glentoran FC and Lisburn FC.
Tristar’s Akim Tejan-Sie picked up the player of the tournament award.
