A man in his 40s has died following a road crash on the outskirts of Derry.
Police said the man died following a two vehicle collision that occurred on the Clooney Road at around 12.50am this morning.
A man aged in his 50s and a woman aged in her 50s were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
A police spokesperson said: "The rtc involved a silver Ford Ka and a grey Peugeot 308.
“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the cars in the area to contact Strand Road Police Station or the Collision Investigation Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 70 of 04/09/16."
The Clooney Road currently remains closed to traffic. Diversions are in place.
