People will be given the unique chance to sketch the Derry Walls this weekend under an expert’s eye.
As the Friends of the Derry Walls contribution to the European Heritage Open Weekend, they have invited artist, Laura McMcLaughlin, to conduct an afternoon sketching tour of the Derry Walls.
Local historian, Mark Lusby, will be on hand also to add some historical commentary.
He said: “All you need to bring is a sketch pad and a drawing pen or pencil.
“Dress appropriately for the weather but if the weather proves impossible we’ve a spectacular indoor location for some interior architectural sketching instead."
Anyone who wants to try sketching for the first time or who wants something different to sketch should meet at the Sandwich Company on Bishop Street Within at 2pm.
Places will be limited to 15 so pre-booking is recommended. Full details at www.thederrywalls.com/events
