A Derry court today heard that a 44-year-old man with a ‘fetish for female medical practitioners’ ejaculated in the presence of a female doctor and nurse after faking a medical condition so the women would examine him.

Jeffrey Kennedy appeared before Derry Crown Court charged with committing an act of a lewd, obscene and disgusting nature and outraging public decency by behaving in an indecent manner and ejaculating in the presence of female medical staff.

The offence took place on June 9, 2014.

The court heard that Kennedy entered Diamond Medical Centre in Magherafelt complaining of chest pains and was examine by two female medical practitioners, a doctor and a nurse.

Kennedy then ‘began moving his pelvic area around on the table’ as he as being examined.

The doctor and nurse then noticed that he had an erection at the time and there was a subsequent ‘wet patch’.

Staff were described as ‘shocked to say the least’ but they continued to treat Kennedy and found that there was no adverse readings on the electrocardiogram machine charting his heart.

It emerged that this is one of ‘500 similar incidents’.

The court was told that Kennedy had been working with his investigating officer and his key worker, with whom he has a good relationship and has been kept ‘reasonably under control’.

Kennedy, of Moorfields Road, Ballymena, was given a four month suspended prison sentence in March but it post-dates this offence.

He was also made subject to a Sex Offender Prevention Order (SOPO).

Crown Court Judge Gemma Loughran said that she would give Kennedy credit for his guilty plea and said that case was ‘objectively unusual, to say the least’.

She added: “This is a further example of a recurrent pattern in your life. You seem to have a fetish for female medical practitioners, doctors or nurses. You caused yourself to have an erection and, notwithstanding their shock, they continued to treat you.

“You have done this on hundreds of occasions and you have gone to Scotland and behaved in a similar way.”

Judge Loughran said that Kennedy was subject to a SOPO until 2020 which bans him from entering any medical facility unless he has made a prior appointment, is suffering from a genuine medical condition or needs emergency treatment.”

She added: “It is small wonder that order was made given the way you have behaved in the past.”

Kennedy was given a two year probation order.

Judge Loughran warned him: “If you fail to co-operate, you will be brought back before the court and sentenced in a different way.

“If you offend again you will be imprisoned.”
