A Derry woman is to take to the skies to help a young boy’s dream of walking to school come true.

Kiera Coyle, from Glendale Park in the Skeoge area of the city, is to do a “sky dive” so her cousin’s little boy, Cobey, who suffers from cerebral palsy, can undergo life-changing spinal surgery.

Kiera said Cobey and his twin brother, Corey (both pictured above), were both born 10 weeks early and “have been through the mill and back.”

She explained:as a result of prematurity, Cobey was diagnosed with form of cerebral palsy which will effect his mobility.

She added: “We now have to look at his future and we are fundraising for Cobey to have a life-changing operation so maybe one day he can walk to school with Corey.

“My auntie moved from Derry to Dublin 35 years ago and Cobey is her grandson.”

The sky dive for Cobey is taking place Saturday, 21 May next..

Kiera added: “I need to raise at least €450 to the sky dive..

“If anyone is willing to donate, I would be happy to collect donations or provide a PayPal account were it can be sent.

Kiera concluded: “It will be an excellent day for a great cause.”
