A protest is to take place at Derry-Donegal border crossing at Bridgend on Saturday.
The demonstration, to be held at 3.00pm, is one of six being held along the North-South Border as part of a Day of Action against Britain’s decision to pull out of the European Union.
Sinn Fein MEP Martina Anderson has called on as many people as possible to support Saturday’s protest organised by campaign group, Border Communities Against Brexit.
According to Ms Anderson, representatives of businesses, trade unions, charities, disability advocacy organisations, community groups and others have come together to form the group and have planned protests at six locations along the border to call for “our remain vote to be respected.”
She said: “I have travelled throughout Ireland meeting people since the aftermath of the recent EU referendum and it is clear there is widespread concern at its potential impact.
"In border areas in particular people are very worried about the British government's plans to drag us out of Europe against our democratically expressed position to remain.
"Any strengthening of the border would be a backward step which would have a hugely negative impact on our communities.”
Ms Anderson concluded: "Sinn Fein is supporting this day of action and I am calling on as many people as possible to come along and take part on Saturday at 3pm to send a message that we don't want to see an EU border in Ireland."
