Police in Derry have warned motorists who park their cars in front of driveways of homes around the University of Ulster’s Magee campus face having their vehicles towed away.
Pointing out the problem was “specific” to the Aberfoyle area, a PSNI spokesperson said the warning was “firmly directed” at students.
The spokesperson said anyone who parked within 15 metres of a junction could be fined £30 and if a vehicle was causing an obstruction (like in front of someone’s driveway) it would be towed away.
Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper (pictured) had called on police to carry out “an exercise” to deter illegal parking in the area.
