An announcement an additional £100,000 funding for bands has been welcomed by Foyle DUP LA Gary Middleton.
The announcement to the Musical Instruments for Bands Programme was made by the Minister for Communities Paul Givan during Question Time in the Assembly today.
Mr Middleton described it as “welcome news.”
He added: “The marching band fraternity involves over 20,000 people throughout Northern Ireland.
“The Musical Instruments for Bands Programme provides £500 to £5,000 for the purchase of instruments.”
He concluded: “This funding was hugely successful in the past and it's welcome news that the Minister not only wants to continue the programme but to invest further in it."
