Maghera-based Irish Linen Manufacturer, William Clark has unveiled a unique luxury brand, Earthed.
The exclusive new range is the first digitally printed woven Irish linen.
William Clark, just outside Maghera, was founded in 1736 and is one of the world’s oldest companies.
Drawing on 280 years’ textile experience, William Clark uses traditional beetling technique involving the pounding of the cloth with mechanised mallets to create an exceptionally close weave.
The linen producer has extensive experience in the apparel market supplying to high-end fashion brands including Burberry and tailors on Savile Row.
Earthed is the company’s first step into the interiors market and sees it marrying traditional techniques with modern creativity and technology to produce a stunning range of interior fabrics.
The first collection to be unveiled is 'The Upperlands Collection,' which has been inspired by the fluid movement of nature. Encapsulating the visual beauty of the natural world, the collection features seven designs each focusing on a different element.
Duncan Neil (pictured) creative director at Earthed said: “Earthed builds on the 300-year heritage of William Clark to create a range of striking linens the like of which has never been seen before.
“We’ve made significant investment into new technologies including cutting-edge digital printing that allows us to create contemporary designs with vibrant colours and complex patterns. All the designs in our collection are inspired by the beautiful Upperlands terrain that has surrounded our mill for centuries.
“We are proud of where we’ve come from and excited about the future of this distinctive new brand,” said Mr Neil.
