The erection of a commemorative plaque to the late popular and well-known Derry tour guide, Martin McCrossan, has been approved by Derry City and Strabane District Council.
Mr McCrossan (pictured) died in February last year after a short illness.
Members of the Council’s Business and Culture Committee this afternoon gave the go-ahead for the memorial to be located to the front of Foyleside Shopping Centre, near Carlisle Road, where Mr McCrossan regularly began his tours of the city, with SDLP Cllr Shauna Cusack describing it as a “fitting tribute.”
The plaque is being erected in tribute to Mr McCrossan's contribution to tourism in the city.
