Ambulance staff are to visit a Derry school to teach pupils “hands-only” CPR

The initiative is part of Restart a Heart Day, an initiative developed by the Resuscitation Council, and being co-ordinated by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service along with British Heart Foundation, in an effort to educate 100,000 school children and inspire them to become life savers.

Oakgrove Integrated College is one of seven schools from across the North which will be visited by ambulance staff next Tuesday.

A spokeperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said: “We will be visiting to teach hands-only CPR and empower the next generation with the skills and the confidence to become heroes in their commnity.”
