The PSNI in Derry have praised a member of the public for his “brave and heroic” actions in the arrest of a suspected armed robber in the Bogside area of the city last night.
The man was detained following the attempted robbery of a shop in Glenfada Pak at around 6.00pm.
The suspect, who was believed to have been armed with a knife, was chased by the man and held until police arrived.
Praising the man for his role in the arrest of the suspect, a police spokesperson said: “We want to publicly thank him for his brave and heroic actions.”
