A children’s play park which was closed over the weekend following an attack by vandals last week is due to reopen tomorrow.
After safety mats at the park at Ballymagowan in Creggan were damaged on Thursday night last, Apex closed it due to health and safety concerns.
However, this afternoon Sinn Fein councillor for the area, Kevin Campbell (pictured) said since the closure he had been in constant contact with Apex and has been informed the repair work would be completed today and the park would reopen tomorrow.
Cllr Campbell added: “Please be vigilant and keep an eye on the park.
“It's for the enjoyment of everyone and, hopefully, we won't see a repeat of this reckless vandalism.”
