Derry charity Foyle Search and Rescue are to donate up to 50% of money from their upcoming charity concert to Flood Funds.
The move comes after a number of homes in the greater Derry area were damaged during flooding in August.
50% of all money raised from the 'Country goes to the Forum' show will be donated to help the victims of flooding.
A Foyle Search and Rescue spokesperson outlined their reasons for the move.
"Foyle Search & Rescue recognise the contributions made by the Public year in year out that enable our Charity to carry out our Lifesaving work," the spokesperson said.
"Our Swiftwater Technicians and Responders were heavily involved in the immediate Flood Response evacuating and assisting many of the families who were so severely affected."
"While out conducting rescue operations and recovering families safely from their flooded homes some of our volunteer’s families were also being affected with one of our own volunteers having to leave her home which will not be habitable for 6 months.
"Our Swiftwater Teams saw at first hand the heartbreak and loss of so much that had been built up in some cases over a lifetime."
They said that they want to help with the rebuilding work.
"We are a community driven Charity that has been in the city for nearly 25 Years and we feel that we need to help in some small way with the rebuilding efforts taking place around the various areas of the City that have been effected," the spokesperson said.
"Therefore 50% of all monies raised from our upcoming Fundraiser, 'Country Comes to the Forum' on Tuesday 26th September will go directly to Flood Funds."
