The cast of this year’s Millennium Forum panto Jack & the Beanstalk took time out of their busy rehearsal schedule to unleash their Inner Elf with Alzheimer’s Society’s visiting elves Jingle and Sparkle.
8 December is Elf Day, when people across the nation will unite to raise money in support of people affected by dementia. You can take part in Elf Day at your school, work or at home so grab some pointy ears, don your hat and get ready to unleash your own inner elf to help Alzheimer’s Society support people affected by dementia.
Bernadine McCrory, Alzheimer’s Society Head of Country for Northern Ireland said: “We’re calling on everyone – from businesses to schools – to let their inner elf out to play on Friday 8 December and help raise money to support people affected by dementia. It’s really easy to take part – just ask for one of our special Elf Day fundraising kits by visiting alzheimers.org.uk/elfday
“There’s a serious side to it too. Dementia is set to be the 21st century’s biggest killer and could affect us all.
“As well as funding research to improve treatments and find a cure, Alzheimer’s Society provides information, support, improves care and works to create lasting change for people affected by dementia. Money raised from Elf Day will help fund this.”
On Elf Day you’ll be helping us get closer to a world without dementia. All the money raised by your little and not-so-little helpers will go towards improving diagnosis, care and treatment, and finding a cure.
Whether you go elf from head to toe or host an elf-themed bake sale, there’s a sledge load of different way to make it a day to remember – check out the ideas in the fundraising pack. Sign up for your free fundraising kit now at alzheimers.org.uk/elfday, then let the world know on social media using the hashtags #elfday and #elfieselfie.
Jack and the Beanstalk opens at the Millennium Forum on Friday 1 December and runs until Sunday 31 December. There will be a Dementia Friendly and Relaxed Performance at 4pm on Sunday 10 December. To book tickets, contact the Box Office on 02871 264455 or visit www.millenniumforum.co.uk
