A BAFTA nominated filmmaker, director and producer will be one the speakers at a Digital Innovation Day at North West Regional College (NWRC), exploring emerging Virtual and Augmented Reality in the field of Digital Media.
Brendan McCourt, a former BBC journalist who is now CEO of Newred TV and Cloud Rupture will deliver a workshop entitled ‘Current and Future Applications of VR/AR’ at the event on Wednesday November 15, a joint partnership between BBC Academy, NWRC and Connected.
Other speakers at the event include: Alan Hook of Ulster University, who will deliver a workshop on Protyping for WebVR; Paul Sweeney, of DAQRI International, who will share his expertise in ‘Creating and Uploading AR Content’; and Amy McGarrigle and Lauren Boyd from the BBC, who will give a seminar on Exploring the world of Archive in a new Digital Age.
The event is one of a number taking part in Derry and Belfast, as part of Digital Cities (11-17 November).
This is your opportunity to get on board with the latest digital trends and explore, hands-on, the latest VR technology in industry and the classroom.
The event, which takes place at North West Regional College’s Northland Building (adjacent to Asylum Road) on November 15 from 9.30 a.m. – 3.30 p.m. is open to everyone and would be of particular interest to students and those working in the Creative Media industry.
