The Ulster Orchestra will perform in Derry later this month as part of a Foyle Film Festival event celebrating the work of local author Tony Doherty.

Doherty will read extracts from his memoirs, This Man’s Wee Boy and The Dead Beside Us, accompanied by the orchestra at the Nerve Centre Main Venue on Thursday November 23.

The music is closely linked to the readings, reflecting those pieces of music, which played an important part in Doherty's life in the sixties and seventies, and is a mix of arrangements and specially composed music by Philip Walton.

The Ulster Orchestra is delighted to have Reveah, a local singer- songwriter guesting on one of the evening’s arrangements.

This event is part of EOLab II, a musician-led audience development project supported by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
