SDLP Councillor Brian Tierney has called on DFI Roads to act to fix traffic lights at Bradley Pass which are still out over 24 hours after the fault was reported.
Cllr Tierney said that after fighting hard to secure the lights, that they’re useless if they aren’t operational at all times.
Cllr Tierney said: “The traffic lights at Bradley Pass and Glengalliagh road have been out since at least 11am yesterday. I’ve reported the fault to DFI Roads but the lights remain out and are causing serious safety concerns.
“This community campaigned hard for these lights because of concerns about safety at the busy junction. But they’ve failed on a number of occasions now. What’s the point in installing lights if you’re going to let them go out so frequently?
“DFI Roads need to address this fault and ensure the lights are reliably fixed before someone is seriously hurt.”
