Sinn Féin Councillor Patricia Logue has welcomed the news that new traffic calming measures have been installed as part of a complete resurfacing and associated work with a section of the Lonemoor Road from its junctions of Letterkenny Road and Brandywell Road.
Councillor Logue said “I am pleased that these traffic calming measures have been installed along this section of the Lonemoor Road after a very long campaign.
"Along with the new road surface and footpaths it will hopefully increase road safety for motorist’s, pedestrians and local residents.
"I have been in daily contact with residents throughout this work taking place as they have had to face a lot of disruption."
She added: "This work comes just in time for the opening of the new Brandywell Stadium, Greyhound Track and state of the art children's Play Park."
"I would appeal to both motorists and pedestrians to take care over the next few weeks as this scheme beds in."
