Former Derry City star Mark Farren has received a posthumous award.
Mark, who died earlier this year at the age of just 33 after a long battle with cancer, has been inducted into the sporting Hall of Fame in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
Details of the honour were announced last night at the annual sports awards at the Everglades Hotel.
Tributes were paid to the FAI Player of the Year 2005, who went on to become Derry City FC’s all-time leading goal scorer with 114 goals.
Representatives from Mark’s family were in attendance last night to receive the 2016 Hall of Fame Posthumous Award in his honour.
