The Western Health and Social Care Trust (Western Trust) grateful acknowledge a remarkable donation from James and Sean Mullan for over £2,000 to Ward 50 (Inpatient Ward) at the North West Cancer Centre at Altnagelvin Hospital.
The donation was made in memory of James’s daughter, Caitlyn, who sadly passed away in 2009 at the age of 19.
Following his daughter’s death, James found new hope through working with horses.
Sean, James’s nephew (also in the picture), was so inspired by his uncle’s ‘strength of character’, he decided to make a short documentary, titled ‘Inhale’.
The film had its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in June 2017.
Before the film embarked on its film festival circuit, James and Sean wanted to give something back to the staff in Ward 50, Altnagelvin, where Caitlyn was treated with great care and love.
Sean and James would like to thank Patrick Simpson and the Brunswick Moviebowl, who held the charity screening in September 2017. Through the fantastic support of the people of Derry, they sold out the biggest screen.
Since then the film has exhibited in 10 other festivals around the world including, London, Bratislava and most recently being awarded the Artistic Vision Award at the Big Sky Documentary Festival in Montana, USA. The film's next stop is on home turf at this year’s Belfast Film Festival April 12th-21st.
Pictured receiving the donation on behalf of the North West Cancer Centre are Jacqueline Gallagher, Kelly Gillen and Lynsey Hewitt.
