The ribbon was cut on the Mark Farren Stand at the newly redeveloped Brandywell Stadium stand last night.
Derry's Mayor Sinn Fein Councillor Maolíosa McHugh was joined by Mark’s parents Kathleen and Michael Farren and Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill.
Derry City legend Mark Farren lost his battle with cancer at the age of just 33.
The Greencastle native was much loved in the city by fans of the club.
His parents were joined last night by his sisters Bridget Flannery and Catrina Gill, brother Philip Farren, and godson Ryan Farren.
Last night marked Derry City FC’s return to the stadium following the £7m Brandywell Redevelopment Project.
