A portrait of the late Deputy First Minister, Martin McGuinness, was unveiled at Stormont earlier today, the day after the first anniversary of his death.
Mr McGuinness' family unveiled the portrait.
There were emotional scenes as his widow, Bernie, wept when she first saw the paining of her late husband. She was accompanied by their four children, Emmet, Grainne, Fiachra and Fionnuala and other members of the family. The late Mr McGuinness' grand-daughter, Cara, also sang a rendition of 'The Voyage' by Christy Moore before her grandfather's portrait was revealed.
The painting by Belfast artist, Tony Bell, will now hang in Stormont alongside a portrait of the late DUP leader and former First Minister, Ian Paisley, with whom Mr McGuinness had forged a strong friendship despite their political differences.
Among those who attended was DUP leader and most recent First Minister, Arlene Foster, alongside former DUP leader and previous First Minister, Peter Robinson.
Pictured above are Bernie McGuinness, widow of the late Martin McGuinness, and former leader of Sinn Féin, Gerry Adams, at the unveiling of the portrait in Stormont.
