The family of the Waterside man, Michael McGinley who went missing two months ago say his body has been recovered.
The 27-year-old had been missing for eight weeks and five days.
Mr McGinley is survived by his brother and sisters Samuel, Laura and Danielle who have been conducting searches of the River Foyle since he went missing.
In an emotional Facebook post his siblings said ‘we don’t know how to feel we are numb we are so thankful to have him back so he can be laid to his final resting place with his beloved mammy and daddy’.
His family thanked Foyle Search and Rescue, North West Search Group, CRS Strabane and Mourne Search and Rescue, the Boyne Fisherman and everyone who helpd them in their search.
Mr McGinley’s funeral arrangements are expected to released later today.
