The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) has confirmed it responded to a report of a fire at a mid-terraced house at Rinmore Drive in the Creggan area of Derry.
The incident happened on Friday, March 23 at 12.32am, but details have only emerged now.
A small fire in the kitchen was out on arrival of the sire crews.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued two men in their mid-30s from the house.
The casualties were treated by ambulance personnel for mild smoke inhalation at the scene.
Crews ventilated the smoke from the premises. Sounding smoke alarms alerted neighbour.
The cause of the fire appeared accidental. Fire crews from Northland and Crescent Link stations attended the incident.
