A new convenience store with an ATM is being constructed at the Ebrington site in Derry.
The shop will be located at the former security hut at building 102, which was used as barracks when the military were stationed in the area.
Work is already underway at the building, which will also feature a ‘coffee dock’, a disabled WC and a rear ramp which will provide disabled access to the building.
The ATM will be located at a secure room at the front of the building, with a lobby area and a counter.
The application is currently being considered by the local planning authority, Derry City and Strabane District and is expected to come before a future meeting of its Planning Committee.
Meanwhile, work is also nearing completion on a new office building a few yards away at Building 104, Ebrington (pictured above).
Building 104 was a purpose-built accommodation block constructed between 1895 and 1904, and is now being advertised on a property website as ‘top grade office accommodation’ located in the ‘sought after Ebrington Square with stunning views across the city and the beautiful St Columb’s Park’.
The new offices will be available from May 2018.
