The Derry republican Thomas Ashe Mellon was arrested today shortly after appearing at a press conference in the city.
Mr Mellon was leaving the Saoardh event at Junior McDaid House on Chamberlain Street in the Bogside, when he was detained.
The independent republican group, Saoradh, claim that a number of its members were arrested on the way to today's press conference, which they had called to discuss incidents surrounding last Monday's Easter commemorations in Creggan.
