The Department of Infrastructure has announced that urgent pothole repairs are to be carried out in the Garden City area of Derry.
Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper welcomed news.
Councillor Cooper said: “I have been liaising with the Department over the issue of pot holes in Garden City and the Lisnarea Avenue area following a number of complaints from local residents.
“The residents had complaints that their vehicles were damaged due to the pot holes and there is also the whole issue of road safety with drivers swerving to avoid these potholes and concern that this could lead to a much more serious accident.
“I am pleased to have received confirmation that any actionable potholes over 50mm deep have been marked for repair and that these repairs will take place shortly.”
