Nadine Coyle has announced she is cancelling a number of upcoming shows including a planned gig in Belfast next month.

The former Girls Aloud singer announced in February her plans to tour the UK and Ireland to perform the band's greatest hits, as well as her own new music.

This included a show at the Limelight in Belfast on Sunday, May 20.

However the Derry star issued a statement on Monday via promoter MCD's Facebook confirming the tour was cancelled.

"I am so sad to say I’m not able to do the tour at this time," she said.

"I am so sorry and really wish things were different but for many reasons it is not meant to be."

She added: "You deserve the best show possible and with such big venues and very little dates it was becoming impossible to achieve what we had wanted to do.

"Everything is a lesson and this is definitely one for me. Thank you for your continued love and support."
