Two men charged with burgling a house where they allegedly stole prescription medication and cash have been remanded in custody.

Stephen O’Reilly, 23, of Bloomfield Park and Adam McMonagle, 24, of Westbourne Crescent in Coleraine, have been jointly charged with aggravated burglary and theft.

It is alleged that both men entered a property in Galliagh Park on May 1 as trespassers and stole prescription drugs as well as £100 in cash.

When the alleged offence was committed McMonagle was said to have been in possession of a knife.

Defence solicitors representing the two men Kevin Casey (McMonagle) and Seamus Quigley (O’Reilly) said no bail application would be made.

A police officer appeared to confirm that he could connect the defendants to the charges.

O’Reilly was also said to have been in breach of bail for other matters.

Bail was therefore formally revoked in his case, and both men were remanded in custody to appear in court by way of video link on May 31.
