The new sanctuary at St Mary's Church in Creggan is to be celebrated at weekend masses, a Parish spokesperson said last night.
He commented: "It is with great happiness that we can say our beautiful sanctuary is now finished and ready for use as of tomorrow [today, Friday].
"We would like to express our extreme gratitude to everyone who helped in one way or another from the beginning to this point, on creating this beautiful work.
"We would also like to thank all our parishioners for their patience throughout this entire process. Everyone has been so supportive and understanding and we commend you all for that.
"Please join us over our weekend masses and come see this beautiful work for yourself. Be part of the congregation as we celebrate mass this weekend on our stunning new altar."
