Police have appealed for witness after a report of an assault on a female in the William Street area of Derry around 1.20am on Monday, May 7.

Sergeant Gary Breen said: “The injured person was receiving treatment at the scene from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) but when officers arrived, she refused to engage with police and left the area.

"As none of her personal details had been given to police when the incident was reported, we were unable to follow this up any further.

“We would ask this lady or anyone who knows her to make contact with police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 118 of 7/5/18 to confirm that she has received medical treatment and to provide us with further details should she wish to pursue this matter.”
