A charity night will be held in the city this week for a project which helps grieving families with the cost of repatriating loved ones who have died while abroad.
The Patrick Friel Curran Project was set up after the Derry man died in September 2013 in New York after a short battle with sepsis. He was 23-years-old.
Before his death, Patrick was a marathon runner who used his love of running to raise money for charitable causes.
In the wake of the tragedy, his family set up the project to help other families from Derry and the surrounding areas help with the costs of repatriation.
This Wednesday night, The Everglades Hotel will host a charity flower demonstration in support of the project.
The night will be hosted by the award-winning florist John Paul, who will be creating floral arrangements with the theme of ‘Sun Dance’
.
The flower demonstration is Wednesday, May 16 starting at 7:30pm in the Everglades Hotel, with doors open from 7pm.
Tickets are £10 with all the profits going to support The Patrick Friel Curran Project.
There will be also be a raffle, refreshments and bake sale on the night.
