Derry’s Republic of Ireland international footballer James McClean married his long-time girlfriend Erin Connor in their home town this afternoon.
The happy couple tied the knot in St Columb’s Church at Chapel Road in the Waterside.
McClean, from Derry's Creggan area, met Erin, from the Lettershandoney area on the outskirts of the city, in a local nightclub six years ago.
They have two children, Allie Mae (2) and eight-month-old James Junior.
The former Derry City favourite, now playing with West Bromwich Albion in the English Premiership, popped the question with a stunning solitaire diamond ring in November 2012.
Honeymoon plans have been put on hold due to McClean’s inclusion in the Republic of Ireland squad for a friendly fixture with Holland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Friday next, the first of two warm-up games ahead of the opening game against Sweden in the European Championships on 13 June.
