A Derry councillor has raised concerns over people using an area of Creggan as a 'race track' for motorcycles and scramblers.
The comments were made by the independent councillor Gary Donnelly after he was contacted by a number of residents over recent days.
"If this continues it will only be a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or killed," he said.
"They are speeding through the estate carrying pillion passengers without helmets.
"They show no regard for other road users and pedestrians and a number of residents have reported to me near misses.
"One of the roads is Creggan Heights which is populated with a number of young children.
"My concerns are that if this continues into the summer holidays with children off school it could cause a fatality.
"I would call on them to desist immediately."
