Derry businesses and customers have been affected today by the Visa payment system having crashed throughout Ireland and across Europe.
The issue affects Visa credit card holders who are trying to pay for items or withdraw cash from ATMs.
Visa card holders will find that their card will be declined due to the fault.
A spokesperson from Visa said: "This incident is preventing some Visa transactions in Europe from being processed.
"We are investigating the cause and working as quickly as possible to resolve the situation.”
There is no estimated time on how long it will take to fix the disruption.
