Derry athlete Mark Mullan has finished fourth in this year's Walled City Marathon behind Kenyan runners Dan Tanui - who has set a new course record - and Eric Koech, who won last month's Belfast Marathon.
Organisers originally had declared Mullan to be in third place, but after some confusion at the line, the runner himself declared he had been awarded fourth place. Mullan was very pleased to be first home of the local finishers.
Tanui finished in a time of 2.19:44, while Koech crossed the line at 2.25: 30.
Mullan, who runs with Spartans, was congratulated at the finish line by Derry's Mayor Maolíosa McHugh, Foyle MLA Raymond McCartney and Foyle MP Elisha McCallion.
