Holy Family Primary and Nursery School have been celebrating this week with the news that they are the first school in Ireland to secure the Inclusion and Diversity Standard in recognition of their excellent Inclusion and Diversity practices.
Representatives from the school travelled to a special awards ceremony at Stormont Buildings, Belfast to receive this prestigious accolade on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.
School principal, Garry Matthewson said: “We are absolutely delighted to secure this recognition as the core principles of the award system mirror exactly what we try to do every day as a Catholic school.
"We want to ensure that every child, parent and visitor to our school feels totally at home and is included as much as humanly possible. In order for pupils and staff to give their very best every day, it is important that they are part of a supportive, inclusive and nurturing team and that is exactly what Holy Family is premised upon.
"This achievement is only possible by the contribution and good will of all pupils, parents, staff, partner organisations and governors. On behalf of the entire Holy Family school community I would like to thank everyone who ensures our school is at the forefront of inclusion and diversity practices.”
